About Robert Regan

Outline A 600x900 ReganCasualHi, I’m Robert Regan and I want to thank you for checking out my campaign website and taking the time to learn more about me and how I want to represent the good people of the 73rd District.

I have been working hard to earn the support of the district. I know that my perseverance, determination and commitment will resonate with the district and am hopeful that 2020 is OUR year.
I am running because I want to serve the people of our district and represent OUR shared values and OUR shared interests in Lansing.

Let’s face it, west Michigan is special.

But, you already know west Michigan is special. You live here. You’re probably wondering, “who the heck am I” and “why should I vote for you?” I get it, so let me share a bit about who I am and what I represent.

First, I am a Bible believing Christian. Now, I normally don’t share that right out of the gate. I think if someone has to say that, well, I wonder why. I want my actions to do my talking, not just my words. But, upfront, I want to be clear, I believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and that is the foundation of my worldview.

Second, I am a father of four adult children. David is married to Sara and they live in Houston, TX. David works as the the Regional Director for Young Life and Sara is a worship leader and singer/songwriter.

Katie is married to John and they live in Orange County, CA.
JohnandKatie 600x429My daughter Katie and her husband John
Stephanie recently graduated from the University of Colorado and presently works with Amazon in Phoenix, AZ.
And, last but not least, Natalie is a sophomore, majoring in musical theater at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT.

Third, I am an entrepreneur, actually I am a “serial entrepreneur.” What I mean by that is that I have been doing entrepreneurial things since I was a small child, starting with lawn care, snow shoveling and selling chicken barbecue tickets for the local Kiwanis club.

I started a T-shirt business in college where I actually earned more money my senior year than my starting salary was at Fifth Third Bank, my first job out of college.

A Finance Degree from Indiana University as well as an MBA from the DeVos Graduate School of Management opened the doors to an Operations Research position as well as the confidence to start my own manufacturing firm.

After ten years of manufacturing, I lost it all and had the unfortunate experience of going through a bankruptcy in the recession of 2008/2009. Then it was time to rebuild. I became a professional recruiter, where I was instrumental in finding, vetting and securing top talent for great Michigan companies like Stryker, Steelcase and Tri-State Hospital.

2014 campaignThen, in 2014, I ran for State Representative. I took 2nd place, surprising everybody. “Who was this Regan guy?” After all, I had no political experience, I had no big name connections or inside information. I just love people, I worked really hard and I wanted to serve.
  • I knocked on a lot of doors and worked my anatomy off, and that seemed to resonate with the voters.
  • I do work hard. I don’t give up. I set a goal and do everything I can to achieve it. I don’t always win, and I don’t always achieve my goal. But, I don’t give up. You may beat me, but I won’t quit.
  • Whether it is finishing one of my 21 marathons, starting businesses, fighting for my children or writing three books. I give it my all and I will continue to give it my all for the people of the 73rd.
Don’t just take my word for it. Ask my supporters and volunteers. They’ll tell you.

Retired Major General Greg Vadnais of the Michigan National Guard will tell you. So will GOP Ford Woman, Jeanine Herlacher as well as former Grassroots Vice Chairman, Mark Gurley.

I am an advocate for the 1st and 2nd amendment as well as the unborn. I support the arts as a volunteer at the Grand Rapids Ballet as well as the Grand Rapids Civic Theater.

But, my love is for people. I want people to become the absolute best they were created to be and frankly, I never met a person I didn’t like. We may not agree on everything. That’s ok. There is still something we can learn from each other and our unique perspective. I believe that within each of us is a divine spark placed there by God and that means we are all important. We all have value.

I ask that you support me with your vote in August, so I can support you as your state representative.
